Love the Idaho City Yurts and Trail System? Join IDPR in Clearing Area Trails!
Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) manages six backcountry yurts north of Idaho City and 56 miles of adjacent summer/winter ski trails.Join IDPR for a day of fresh air, hard work and fun preparing, the trails for winter Saturday, September 14, 2013.
The primary work will be brushing and signing the trails with blue blazes.
Volunteers can camp free at the Beaver Creek Cabin campground on Friday, September 13th and Saturday, September 14th or make a Saturday day trip up to the staging area at Beaver Creek Cabin. Work begins at 9 a.m.
The Beaver Creek cabin is located about 19 miles north of Idaho City and 1 mile off Highway 21 on the Beaver Creek Cabin Road. The turnoff from Highway 21 is between mile marker 57 & 58.
Dress for cool weather and bring water, gloves and a lunch.
All tools will be provided. After a short briefing and team assignment, we will drive to the specific work areas. Later in the afternoon, about 4:00 pm, volunteers will gather back at the Beaver Creek Cabin for thank yous, tee-shirts and a prize drawing. For those staying overnight on Saturday evening we will have an evening potluck. Drinking water, a toilet, and a hot shower are available at the Beaver Creek Cabin.
