APRIL 26: VOLUNTEER DAY ORGANIZED FOR HELLS GATE STATE PARK
LEWISTON – Volunteers have organized a ‘Community Clean-Up Day,’ April 26 for Hells Gate State Park from 8am - noon.
Planned projects within the park include: painting, fence construction, trail maintenance, brush and debris removal.
Volunteers need to check-in before beginning work. Event registration will be located just beyond Tammy Creek, near the playground and beach area.
The event was organized by residents and members of the Lewiston area Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS).
“We feel it’s important to work together to beatify the special public places that define our community,” said Will Godfrey, event organizer. “We encourage all interested to come and assist in this day of service. The larger the group of volunteers, the more we can accomplish.”
The $5 Motor Vehicle Entry Fee (MVEF) will be waived for event participants.
Organizers encourage volunteers to dress appropriately for outdoor work with long sleeves, pants and covered-toe- shoes. Organizers also request volunteers bring gloves be at least 10 years of age.
